Frogs!

Eli recently sold his old bike and decided to use the money for something super special...his very own pet! Of course he adores our little Zoe, but she's the family pet, and now he has pets of his very own...two African dwarf frogs (and their trusty sidekick, snail)!
Here's the happy frog owner...The cool thing about these frogs from a parent's perspective is that they are incredibly low maintenance. The live in a self-sustaining aquarium that only needs water changes every six months, and they only need to be fed twice a week. They also don't make any noise or odor and hardly take up any space. They're pretty cool pets!Every once in awhile they kind of freak me out, though. You see, when African dwarf frogs relax, they float. Apparently this is called "zenning," but at least twice now I've looked at the tank and thought a frog was dead!Anyway, they're fun to watch and Eli just loves them! He likes to call them his "cheetah frogs" because of their spots. He hasn't given them names, though some ideas he has tossed out include "Eli and Abby" and "Blue and Yellow" (his favorite colors). I don't think he's going to end up naming them, but he sure does enjoy them!
