Happy Resurrection Day!

Our family enjoyed a beautiful and blessed Resurrection Day! We are so very grateful for a special day to celebrate the fact that God loves each and every human being so very much that Jesus was willing to die for us, so that we can enjoy the forgiveness of our own wrongs and look forward to an eternity of abudant joy after our lives here are finished. What blessings!

We began our day with Resurrection Cookies...this is a tradition that we've come to treasure and highly recommend to other families! Saturday night Eli and I made the cookies, which then stay in the sealed oven overnight. In the morning, the kids unsealed the oven and opened it up to reveal their special treats symbolic of Jesus' empty tomb. Then it was on to Easter baskets filled with lots of fun and silly things.And of course, the much-anticipated egg hunt!Time to check out the goodies...Needless to say, they didn't eat much breakfast!All dressed up and ready to go worship the risen Lord!After a wonderfully uplifting celebration of the resurrection our little family headed to a little cafe for some treats.

Precious little lady...and such a handsome little man!Okay, this one totally doesn't deserve to be in here, but I just have to show off the beautiful mocha I enjoyed! Talk about dessert in a cup! :)

After we finished our treats at the cafe we headed over to Nana & Pa's house to spend the rest of the day with them and Great Grandma. We enjoyed swimming, more Easter baskets, and a very delicious dinner. The day culminated with Eli telling us the entire Easter story using his Resurrection Eggs. It literally brought tears of incredible joy to my eyes to hear my precious son recount the events of Jesus' death and describe the incredible meaning of this very special day.
